Zihua and I are taking part in the JetSaver Light Challenge 2010. If we were chosen, we would be flown to Taipei by Jetstar for free! So for the past few days, we were busy making this video.
I am so proud of myself! I used iMovie to do it. It was really hard at first because I am such a Mac noob. But once I had gotten the hang of it, everything was easy and fun!
Was sitting at the dining table of the penthouse of a doctor's swirling my wineglass while the rest of the company engaged in very enthusiastic chatter and in a number of accents, about work, travel, asia, business, religion, weather, pets, men, women, dating, sex, music, films, dramas, clubs, parties and a little bit of the normal bitching where it would be deemed abnormal if absent under the presence of a number of women. Once in a while I would play with the perfectly beautiful female husky which licked me furiously the moment I entered the party.
What I realised was that I am actually very green. Green as in greenhorn green. I have sooooooo much more to experience and learn. And I want to do it with the right person.
And one more thing. Birds of a feather really do flock together. It depends on what type of a bird do you want to be, or rather, whether you can be.
Has got me wandering alone into town yesterday, together with my just recharged Nikon, to run some personal errands, which in retrospect, were not that important to accomplish at all. I got down the bus at Far East, got myself some pearl milk tea and went to join the after-school teens hanging out in the basement of Far East Plaza. After knocking off a mannequin's hand accidentally at a shop which landed with a few loud thuds and buying a piece of cute romper (yay), I walked further down to Taka in the wet weather.
I went inside MNG and wanted to go $$$crazy$$$. I think my love for MNG cannot be measured. As such, I went into the fitting room and became a camwhorer (cam-horror?).
I really love all their pretty summer clothes! SUMMER! My favourite season! Of course, I did not buy anything in the end, MNG salesgirl must have hated me. If only money could just fall from the sky.....
Some (in my opinion, quite lousy, but if you can dig, you will find good stuff) fair called A Bags and Shoes Affair in Taka. Honestly, I think even the name sounds tacky.
And upon further digging in my camera....I found pictures of Julie's 21st haha. Omg. Since 30 Dec 2009.
I can't wait for my friends to finish their exams. Okay gtg, bye!
I just happen to be a soft toy hater who got a pink carebear and decided to camwhore with it and act cute. Kthxbai (I have a lot of people to cite for this 3-in-1 word, not sure where to begin).
Photo credits to The Apple Purist: (Tan, Eunice, 2010).
Think different-ly (Dietzel, Jorg, 2010).
Eunice was the one who attended the very first class (Statistics haha) in university with me, and she is also the one who attended my very last class (Promotional Management) with me.
P/S: Do you know that whatever is on the right would appear to be on the left (and vice versa) on photobooth pictures!
The past two weeks were perhaps the climax of my entire academic life, battling submissions and warring presentations (oh yeah, and quizzes) one after another. Last Thursday, I did the last quiz I would ever do, and presented the last presentation I would ever present in school. Nothing that ended off with a big bang and no ceremonies to bade me goodbye. The class just ended, and everybody took their own ways. As I graduated, I realised that there were many unsettled feelings and unsaid goodbyes. I guess on that day, I was really emotional and I was hoping to cling on to that last few moments in school, as a student, close to my heart. Suddenly, it seemed odd to be feeling for an institution which is rather cold and heartless in general.
Friday was officially the last day with the last class for me. And we all know Friday lessons are dates with our most charming lecturer of all times - Mr. Jorg Dietzel. It was a good wrap up with all the cheap thrills and squeals and giggles that came inevitably with Jorg's witty comments and frank remarks. I ended off the evening with dinner and dessert with Eunice, Weilin, Shuyi and Neil after a failed attempt in "stalking Jorg" in his Audi Convertible haha.
I have been pondering over writing a graduation post for the longest time, ever since perhaps Week 3 or something. But up till today, as I am typing this post, I still have zilch idea what to write to succinctly sum up my feelings upon graduation. Come to think of it, we have actually graduated, in a sense, countless times ever since Kindergarten. Along the way, many rivers have been cried (Timberlake, Justin, 2002) as we parted ways with our friends and moved on with our own lives in another sheltered environment known also as school.
But this time, it is different because I would finally be leaving school and take the first step into a new phase of life as a full fledged adult. I have many hopes and many dreams, I want to travel, I want to experience life and I want to get a good job (I want to buy bags). Yet, at this point in time, I have no idea what the future has in place for me. My diary after 16 April 2010 is empty but I hope the pages would be filled up soon, both with fun and work. I will remain optimistic and try to get my life in order, with everything in place. I hope to have good news for everyone soon. I am a little scared, a little nervous and yet excited. But it's okay because I will spread my wings and learn how to fly and I will do whatever it takes till I touch the sky (Clarkson, Kelly, 2004).
And, most importantly, I also know I have been blessed with people who love me and would be behind me all the way.
Monstrous week with one too many submissions and things to be done. Actually, it was also kinda because I'm a last minute worker, resulting in many late nights this week. I feel it in my body, it's screaming.
On Tuesday, I got bloody pissed off by one of my project groups and I felt like I just wanted to scream at them. Have you guys ever had a project team where members don't really talk and they just stare at you, expecting you to do the talking? It's so painful. It's like......okay, I know I love talking a lot and some people think that "I say it best when I say nothing at all" (Chua, Jiahwa, 2010)....but yeah......non responsive group members with blank faces just.....piss me off.
Tuesday evening: went for the most unhappy manicure I have ever had. I then wrote a complaint letter, longer than one of the essays I had submitted this week, to Citibella, demanding compensation. They haven't gotten back to me.
On Wednesday, I was lonelygal_88 in school from 3pm till 10pm working at the School of Computing. I left school, hungry and very exhausted. To my very pleasant surprise, I bumped into Dixie and her friend at Clementi on my way home and we went for dinner (it was already supper for them) together.
I had KFC for dinner on Thursday night, which made me swear that I won't eat it for the next six months at least. It gave me a Number 3. (Number 1 is pee, Number 2 is poo, and so...Number 3 is...............???)
Friday was OMG the big day for Promotional Management with our beloved-heart-melts Mr Jorg Dietzel (I was secretly happy he stood next to me HAHA. Omg he had better not find this blog EVER!). Wong Li Lin came to our class for the final presentations which we had done for her product, Loopz. She loved our group's idea and I am truly overjoyed, hopping around like a happy bunny. We were ranked 2nd best out of the 6 teams!
I am so happy now! :) I think I had accumulated a huge sleep debt. I fell asleep on the couch after dinner while watching a film. But I think my hard work this week was all worth it.
Thinking: Where is everyone? What are they doing? Can someone please come and talk to me? Should I paint my nails a nude gold next? Is there even such a colour?
Hoping: For a tinge of hope. And that everything can fall into place soon.
Dreaming: Of a place that I want to be in. Beach maybe?
Doubting: Myself. You. Everyone?
Waiting: For a miracle.
Wanting: A purple Balenciaga Motorcycle. Maybe in pink or in green too for the summer. And other such small leather goods.
