Thrill it On.
Just before I woke up today, I dreamt that I was in India. I cannot remember the exact dream, only bits and pieces here and there. I was going out of the budget hotel with two friends in the dream. I guess I was feeling excited and we were going somewhere to buy food. And then, for some weird reason, I stopped to talk to a local, and my friends did not wait. I tried calling out to them but they carried on walking and chatting happily between themselves.
I wanted to go after my friends, but the local would not let me. Slowly, one local became three, and then it became five, and then it became a group, and then it became a crazy mob. Of course I started to run! And the crazy mob of locals started to chase after me. They were insanely violent and angry. They had sticks in their hands. I ran and ran and ran...............and I woke up panting. It was 8.30a.m.
I have been waking up at 8.30a.m. these few days and I am not sure why. It is not like I sleep early too. I find it pretty strange that I just wake up so early although I feel tired. Is this a sign?
I had an awesome day with Julie, Calvin and Sheng! We sang Karaoke and had so much fun! I think we can really form a band, we sing like singers and dance like dancers. Avril Lavinge's my favourite to sing now! All my unglamourous moments happen pretty much at Karaoke. After five hours of shouting, screaming, hopping and dancing, we met Lydia for dinner! We had Japanese food and surprised Sheng with a birthday cake we decorated ourselves! We went home burping full and very happy.
Sometimes, I really wish I can have all the fun I want without having to be made to feel guilty. Actually, I meant, all the time.

Mourn Monday
So, nature has taken a pretty bad course. I am pretty confident I am NOT getting it.
The interview went pretty bad because the connection was so bad I couldn't hear nothing. I spent half the interview saying this, "I am sorry but could you please repeat yourself?" I was frowning half the time because I couldn't hear nothing. The connection was slow and laggy, whatever they said turned out in bits and pieces, so I couldn't hear nothing. It was so painful because I couldn't hear nothing. Both parties were getting frustrated because we couldn't hear nothing.
(Literary tool: Repetition of the phrase "couldn't hear nothing" to emphasise how I really couldn't hear nothing.)
And when I could finally hear something and say something, my mind kinda went blank. We hung up.
But it is okay. I can handle this and I can move on.

The Weekend, OSIM!
I enjoyed my weekend very much as it was very well spent with my loved ones.
Saturday.
The weather was pretty fine and I ventured out to town to meet Lydia with my freshly cut bangs. This was how I looked on Saturday, after some discussion with Dixie on how to look more like F.W.

So Dixie, how is this? God, this is such a funny obsession.
I was still slightly apprehensive about how I look with bangs but I think I am getting more and more used to it. And now, I think I like it. ((:
I had a very good time with Lydia. We had lunch together and I ate spicy Korean rice cakes for the first time in my life! It is not exactly awesome but I am craving for them right now at this very moment as I am typing! I think I am under very strong influence from all my friends and sister who are really into Korean dramas.
We walked around the jampacked town, looking for a present and......we saw Mr J, an old and extinguished flame. My first flame. I had never seen him before all these years and all of a sudden, on this fateful Saturday afternoon when I was all happy and cheery, I saw him. At that very moment, my first reaction was, sadly, to turn away. There was also this sudden surge of curiosity that overcame me. Well, I guess I am just nosy by nature.
After hanging with Lydia, it was couple time with my Lover. We haven't met for like 6 days since our last swim at Raffles Country Club, and we missed each other like crazy.
We had a very relaxing, comfortable and...cosy evening together. Just the two of us, admiring the city from the full length windows, listening to slow jazz songs, sipping our drinks, chewing hot and tasty nuts, and chatting about anything and everything that came to our minds. It is time like this that counts.
On Sunday, Mag's Birthday!

The most memorable thing about the party was acutally this......

For this game, everyone had to find a character parallel to the character you had gotten in the slip of paper. I turned over my slip of paper and saw this. I burst out laughing. Just when all I wanted to be was F.W. I had to find my Sweetheart Y.G. because I was X.L.N. It was hilarious.
And, after Mag's party, I had a BBQ at ECP with the True Crew. I got home exhausted.
OSIM, Oh Shit It's Monday.

TGIF
Friday is happening because......
1) Michael Jackson is dead.
Okay, fine. It is not like I am a huge fan of his. However, Michael Jackson is a name that I always hear about when growing up. I think there is no one who does not know him. I remember watching Moonwalker when I was a kid and got really freaked out. I still remember a few scenes from the show quite vividly. His death is so sudden (though nothing out of the extraordinary like his person).
2) BANG BANGS.
Well, all I have got to say is, at least I tried.
3) Old School
Tonight, the cab I was on was playing Chinese oldies. They are songs that I have heard since I was like 4 years old but I never know what are the titles or who are the singers for most of the songs. I just know the tune, a very familiar tune which brings me back to when I was a kid. The Cabbie was humming and singing along, and I secretly smiled to myself. I was not mocking him, but I was merely chuckling at how the two of us are enjoying the same song albeit in a different way. The Cabbie was probably singing and thinking about how young and handsome he was when he first heard that song, and for me, I was marvelling at how fast time flies, and how much I had grown up.
TGIF, Thank God It's Friday.

F.W. Inspired.
When I told my sister I wanted to get bangs because of F.W., she slapped her forehead, closed her eyes and said "omg" in a very silent voice. Her look was really funny, I would have captured it if I had a camera in my hands.
But seriousssssly, what is so exasperating about that?
I think I need more baggy clothes, more sling bags and lots of whitening cream. I have been getting darker lately due to swimming and it is so annoying. But I still love to swim. I need SPF 130 sunblock.
Haha I think only one person can understand why I want to look like F.W. so much.
(Please do not mock me. I just think F.W. is really pretty and that is about it.)

Wednesday Woes II
I have a thousand and one "WHY"s to ask.

Wednesday Woes
This morning, I was exhilarated because I received an email which told me I was one more step closer to my dream. Again, I was chuckling to myself as I got all hopeful about the life that is going to be. I also got all paranoid and worried about nonsensical little nothings. I was EXCITED!
However, in life, there are really certain things that require blessings from some people to set your mind at ease before you can go ahead with whatever you want to do. I am not so lucky with that. I am in a dilemma now. Therefore, while letting nature take its course, I have written to a person whom I trust the most to seek advice from. And I shall see what this person has got to say.
On a lighter note, I spent this afternoon cooking at Calvin's place with Julie. We impressed each other with our cooking skills, Julie impressed us with her washing skills ((: We made pork and fried rosti and they were really yummy. After lunch, Calvin decided to impress us further, with Science experiments. So we spent the afternoon trying to make a flame extinguish, make invisible words appear and whatnots.
I wanted to go swim at Keppel but the pool was fully booked and it was raining anyway. I was so upset because I think I am addicted to swimming. " I want to swim so badly." So, I went to pamper myself in my most favourite way, I did my nails. They are a pretty pink now.

Tuesday is Sweet.
Okay, so I have been pretty domestic these days. I cook and I bake. I have to say I really like cooking and baking a lot although I cannot put into exact words why I like doing so. The aftermath of each cooking and baking session is really quite a turnoff but the process and end result are often Sweet. Now, please note that I used the word "often" because there are just some days, by Murphy's law, things turn out unexpected.
Just this morning, I was preparing lunch for my family. I was cooking the same humble dishes that I have been cooking, not much of a change. The only change was that I was slightly more confident because I have been doing the same thing for a few times now. But today, my egg was too dry and my vegetables just tasted like rubber, or should I say salty rubber?
After lunch, I went to Julie's place to bake. We aspired to bake strawberry cheesecake cupcakes! We met at the supermarket to buy our baking supplies. Being amateurish bakers, there are many things we do not know. For instance, we do not know if "Whole Cream Milk" equals "Full Cream Evaporated Milk". We also do not know if Cream Cheese is really just Philadelphia's Cream Cheese Spread. We finally decided that our assumptions were correct. We took 1.5 hours to finish buying our supplies.

First batch. This was right before putting the cupcakes into the oven.
And this was how it turned out.
Well, at least we learnt our lesson. Full of energy and vigour, we started on our second batch.
And, this time it turned out right ((:
Do they not look good? ((: But sometimes, we should never judge a book by its cover. They were too sweet.
Today was also the day I sent in the application for my dream. Life is full of hope now. Let us just wait and see what happens.

True Monday Blues, and Maybe Not so Blue...

Today was just plain funny. I do not and cannot understand how a cake which was meant for happy occasions and celebrations can turn out to be the catalyst of one full day of quarrels. Alas, this awesome Bakerzin strawberry cheesecake was only appreciated by the ones who bought it, which kind of defeats the purpose of why it was bought in the first place. Happy Fathers' Day anyway.
On the other hand, on a brighter side, I have received my reference letter from my Services Marketing Professor, who is really a very friendly, amiable and helpful lady. I am also very diligently writing my cover letter for an internship which I believe is very highly sought after. All these bring new purpose and hope to my otherwise mundane and monotonous summer vacation. I really cannot wait! I am already stupidly imagining myself there. Perhaps, even if I did not get the internship in the end, I should be contented about how this dream makes me so happy by merely dreaming about it.
