Four Glass Walls
I'm currently at Chevron House's Starbucks in the Land of Elites. Just came out of Ogilvy & Mather, where I was for a field trip sort of thing organized by my promotional management lecturer. Regrettably, I was sleepy most of the time. I didn't exactly make an impression. To be honest, I was a little intimidated and I felt like I was in a movie as I stepped into the meeting room. Culture shock.
I'm still feeling sleepy as I'm typing. Whatever is going on in Starbucks right now is just a patch of blur. Voices are just continuous buzzing, in a few different tongues, without sense. I'm sitting right at the far corner, by a glass window. I feel like there are four walls of glass built around me. I am immune to anything outside of my four glass walls, and would be even if the sky crashes down on me right now. This is like a respite from all the continuous family gatherings and social activities the past few days. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy those, but I appreciate greatly this "me only" time before heading off soon for yet another family dinner.
The past few days of Chinese New Year flew by really quickly. Had reunion dinners, new year goodies, lots of catching up with people and, for something new, I went to Stefanie Sun's concert at Resorts World yesterday upon receiving a call from Kahyin who told me she had 20? complimentary tickets. I didn't wear much for the entire Chinese New Year, the weather was sooooooooooooooooo damn hot. Must be global warming. I promise I would be more environmentally friendly. Okay gotta run. Maybe pictures tonight.
XOXO.
